Initial Data Retrieval
On-site review and sorting
of archived data:
All One River GIS Services
accesses archived data, which may be boxed up in dusty storage facilities
or saved on computers with Windows 95, 3.5 inch floppies, and in archaic
formats. This is a common situation with common issues.
-
Who can you trust to recognize the operating
system and find the right scuzzy-interface readers?
-
Do you have the staff or time to dig
through boxed data or thousands of folders and files?
-
Will your staff recognize the important
maps, reports, sample data, surveys, etc.?
-
Can you afford to pay a geologist with
a Master's degree to spend their time opening and closing boxes? Scanning?
Copying?
-
Will your office staff visit and enter
a dusty storage facility? Will they lift and carry boxes of files?
-
Who can you trust to access and retrieve
the most important data?
... All One
River GIS Services can retrieve your archived
data from storage and recover data from many archaic operating systems,
including restoration of scuzzy-dependant device connections (old tape
drives and backup devices...).
Staff:
Our staff is comprised of technical
people who work at home, "work-at-home-moms" mostly -- women who have a
technical background, were geologists, engineers, have Master's degrees,
etc. but who opt to work on a per-need basis from their own homes. They
take on similar tasks, such as itemizing basemaps or merging sample data
and become highly efficient at specific repetitive aspects of reviewing
and recovering mining and exploration data. Some people simply open and
go through boxes and pull out specific data. Some people scan files, rename
the files, and populate a data set of organized folders. (We also have
Mr. work-at-home-moms!)
